Spain and the World Table, The New Portuguese Table Cookbooks {giveaway}

SPAIN and New Portuguese Table cookbooks

This giveaway entry period is now closed, but feel free to comment anyway! Also, make sure you enter the other open giveaways!

We’re on a little bit of a roll here with the themed cookbooks sets to giveaway. Today, we have two cookbooks featuring the cuisines of neighboring countries Spain and Portugal: Spain and the World Table by Martha Rose Shulman for the Culinary Institute of America, and The New Portuguese Table by David Leite!

Let’s get the giveaway going, then I’ll tell you more about each of these gorgeous books!…

How to Enter this Giveaway (one person gets both cookbooks!)

  1. Leave a comment with YOUR NEXT CULINARY TRAVEL DESTINATION! It doesn’t have to be far, it doesn’t have to be realistic. It doesn’t matter what you say, as this is a random drawing, but it does matter that you do comment with something.
  2. Make sure to enter your email address in the box provided so we can contact you
  3. Share this giveaway post with your friends on facebook and twitter! (not required, but we’d love the help!)

You have until next Monday November 5, 2012 at 5 PM PST to comment. Everyone is welcome to comment to enter, but we can only ship this stuff in the U.S. (So if you’re outside the US and win, you just need to provide us with a US mailing address to send!)

Good luck!

(And by the way, in case anyone is wondering, I am dying to go back to France, specifically Burgundy, to wine and dine!)

If we could travel anywhere? I’d take the hubs on a tour of the Caribbean since that’s what he wants to serve in his restaurant (when he finally has the opportunity to have a restaurant). We’d be gone awhile, though….LOTS of islands are a part of the Caribbean: Trinidad, Jamaica, Antigua, Honduras, Saint Kitts…all in all, something like 36 – 40 of them!

I would love to go to Portugal again. The diversity of the food is truly remarkable. When Evora the food consists of farm stock and grains. On the coast it is seafood and veggies. The butcher in Evora market will ask you if you want black pork or white pork. There is a difference but in North America we don’t know it. The barbequed / grilled sardines on the coast are the “street meat” option when walking along the beach. The bread………..what can I say…….fantastic. Portugal for sure!

Gold Coast, Australia…gorgeous beaches, plenty of galleries, music and night life and lots of veg-friendly restaurants. And it’s Springtime now. :)

I would actually like to go the best restaurants in town and then try to make the dishes I loved at home!

The south… I am dying for some real, down home BBQ. These people up north don’t know what they’re missing!! :)
