I have this “thing” when it comes to banana pancakes.

Now, I almost never cook nor eat pancakes, and I don’t particularly care for bananas. (Wow, this is going so well, so far, isn’t it?!)

But when someone does “banana pancakes,” we expect bananas to be IN the pancakes. Mashed ripe bananas mixed into the batter like banana bread. Slices of banana dropped into the pancakes while cooking. We’ll even take caramelized bananas wrapped up inside a super delicate crepe-like pancake.

But sliced bananas thrown on top of plain pancakes? That’s not “banana pancakes.” That’s “bananas ON pancakes.” That’s “I’m too lazy to make real banana pancakes.” That’s…

…enough of my pettiness, don’t you think?

So let’s just get to the real point of banana pancakes, which is the winning comment for that bright white, perfect-for-summer KitchenAid Stand Mixer!

The KitchenAid Stand Mixer is going to Miss @ Miss in the Kitchen, who commented with Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson!

Now we didn’t choose the comment because of the song (giveaways are done randomly!), but I did quite love that it introduced me to a song I had never heard before.

I know. Where have I been for the last 10 years, right?!

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who played along, and congratulation to Miss! Can’t wait to see what kind of awesome things come out of the kitchen with a brand new mixer!

Oh. And if you’re down about not having been chosen, buck up little, camper. We just might have another mixer in our kitchen closet to giveaway in a few days. But you didn’t hear that from me…
