KitchenAid® Stand Mixer Giveaway! – Because TasteSpotting Loves You…

KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixers
We promised you a stand mixer, and yes we’re a day late, but can you blame us? It’s summer.

But here we are giving you — well, not all of you, just one very lucky you — a KitchenAid Stand Mixer in our very favorite color, TasteSpotting White™ (hey, if Martha can have a signature color, so can we!)

HOW TO ENTER

There is but one step to enter this giveaway, and even though Mrs. Galayda in 5th grade taught us never to make a numbered list if there’s only one thing:

1. Answer this question in the comments section of this post: What is the first thing you are going to make with your own KitchenAid® Stand Mixer?

We can’t wait for someone else to get his/her very own Mixer and love it and hug it and squeeze it and name it “Hello Kitch-y” like we did. Trust me, once you have your own, naming your Stand Mixer won’t sound weird to you at all.

IMPORTANT STUFF FROM SARAH

Winner will be chosen at random. We’re not sure when, so it’s best to just enter now (but we’re thinking at least 24 hours, but you know how we are at TasteSpotting).

Please enter only once. That means once per person, not you and your multiple internet personalities with different email addresses.

No, I have no way of enforcing this. You could lie but trust me *singsong voice* I will find out. I have been mercilessly deceived before and you know the saying…Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, and I S-W-E-A-R (that’s “promise” for those of you who can’t spell) that I will detox my weigh to a mere 3 pounds just so I can crawl through the Internet to your kitchen and use a citrus reamer on you in ways that wouldn’t be considered sexy.

(Besides, TasteSpotting is going to have lots of gifts to give away the rest of this summer. Oh did I forget to mention that? :) )

Good luck!

This giveaway is lovingly sponsored by KitchenAid.

Sarah Y. June 9, 2010 at 9:13 am

The first thing I would make would be some fresh bread. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, beats fresh bread. Except maybe coconut macaroons. So, maybe that instead. I don’t know!

Sarah June 9, 2010 at 9:16 am

It depends on the week! Every week I make a new dessert for my blog (cooking my way through all the National Food Holidays). So if it’s next week, maybe some peanut butter cookies. July – maybe some basic sugar cookies. August – crust for the many pies it looks like I’ll be making!

Julia June 9, 2010 at 9:16 am

I would make bread first, as I have tried to hand knead countless times, as well as use a breadmaker to make dough, with varied success. I’m pretty sure I would make Hokkaido Milk Bread!

I’m not sure what I’ll make first, but I think it would be a bread product of some kind!! Yum! Or maybe it will be tamales.

Ashlie June 9, 2010 at 9:24 am

Wow – it would be incredibly difficult to choose – I’m getting giddy just thinking about it! If I had to choose I would say bread – kneading by hand is a real chore – it’s the only think that keeps me from making bread more often!

Joanna June 9, 2010 at 9:24 am

The first thing I would make is a cheesecake!

michelle @ The Domestic Mama June 9, 2010 at 9:24 am

And since I’ve wanted a stand mixer for a very long time, I’ll bake berry filled cupcakes that she’s been asking to make … ooh, i have been CRAVING home-made ooey- gooey, warm-from-the-oven cinnamon rolls. I’d make that! My dad’s birthday is coming up and he likes coconut jelly cake. I could make that from scratch! Too many choices!

Pedro P. June 9, 2010 at 9:41 am

I love baking! There’s nothing I find more relaxing and enjoyable than whipping up something delish to share with the family and friends at least 3 times a week(lucky them, right?!). The first thing I would make on that beautiful masterpiece that ive always dreamed of owning would be an amazing Vanilla Bean Flan Cake that everyone is always begging me to make. It’s a delicious layer of flan baked with a layer of cake on top…it’s possibly the best dessert you could ever put in your mouth. Delicious moist, vanilla speckled cake over custardy flan, drizzled with decadent caramel or if preferred, which I love, drizzled with a raspberry sauce and fresh raspberry’s. Do I have you drooling? I have myself drooling! So that’s the first thing I would make if I won. Im going to keep my fingers crossed! And if anyone whose tasted my cake finds out I entered this contest they are going to force you to pick me to win as it’s been about a month since ive made that cake for anyone.

Honestly, I know this is boring, but I’d just make a regular batch of bread. Anytime I try to make bread by hand, I can’t seem to get the knack of kneading, and it doesn’t rise the way it should. I can’t wait to see the difference in a real mixer.

nina June 9, 2010 at 10:10 am

I have to say Macaroons. I have never tried making them, and a new Kitchenaid will most definitely inspire me to try!!

Caroline June 9, 2010 at 10:10 am

mmmm marshmallows

merry jennifer June 9, 2010 at 10:10 am

I’m thinking homemade pizza dough. Or maybe cheesecake. Or both!

Janine June 9, 2010 at 10:10 am

Carrot cake or I may have to run out and buy the pasta, sausage, juicer attachments and go absolutely CRAZY!

Blake June 9, 2010 at 10:11 am

I’d make the Beer Cake. I’ve had that recipe open in my browser for days and it’s just calling out to be made. I’d just need to find a nice, exotic beer from my website.

Thu June 9, 2010 at 10:12 am

oh how i would love to win this, even though my teeny tiny NY apartment will barely fit it, I will make room!!

I have been dying to make this fresh strawberry layer cake that I saw on Gourmet Traveller.. decadent layers of almond sponge cake interlaced with fresh strawberry and citrus cream.. YUM!!

My grandmother’s dinner rolls, she FINALLY gave me the recipe. I have been begging for years. I’d love to be able to recreate a part of my childhood. Words cannot begin to describe how amazing these rolls are. First of all, they are giant! (and flaky, light, buttery…and did I mention yummy?!)

maybelles mom June 9, 2010 at 10:13 am

Paula is QuiteCurious June 9, 2010 at 10:14 am

A birthday cake for a loved one :)

smiller June 9, 2010 at 10:14 am

I have wanted one of these for so long, it’s nearly impossible for me to decide what I would try first! Homemade spinach pasta? Tres leches cupcakes? Homemade challah? Pizza with homemade dough? So many possibilities! I think I’d probably start with pasta. I’m a total pasta nut :)

Jennifer June 9, 2010 at 10:14 am

something for my mom and granny who taught me how to use one of these in the first place… or better yet, i’ll make something WITH them. so much love is shared in the kitchen!

Leah June 9, 2010 at 10:15 am

Gabi June 9, 2010 at 10:20 am

samk June 9, 2010 at 10:26 am

What is the first thing you are going to make with your own KitchenAid Stand Mixer?

Chocolate chip cookies from Ad Hoc (sllightly modified)

Kara June 9, 2010 at 10:27 am

The first thing i will make is everyone else around me Jealous! (oh snap!)

Well that and sea salt chocolate chip cookies with chunks of bacon

Carmen June 9, 2010 at 10:27 am

I would use it to make bread, and then some homemade butter to go with it.

Jane June 9, 2010 at 10:27 am

I never win contests but if I DID win this one, I’d use my new Kitchen Aid mixer to start baking fresh bread every weekend.

Laura June 9, 2010 at 10:27 am

I would love the opportunity to make a vegan chocolate avocado bundt cake with a new KitchenAid mixer!!

Homemade pizza dough of course!! <3

Erica June 9, 2010 at 10:38 am

Definitely Lemon Meringue Baked Alaska…I have made it once before and it was mighty tasty, but a lot of work with no stand mixer!!
http://www.cookinglight.com/food/top-rated-recipes/5-star-frozen-desserts-00400000050987/page8.html

Kyle June 9, 2010 at 10:39 am

Alicia June 9, 2010 at 10:40 am

Vegan carrot-banana bread

June June 9, 2010 at 10:40 am

I’m making my recipe for Crunchy Yummy Cookies or Breakfast Cookies. Really stiff doughs are tough to mix.

Adri June 9, 2010 at 10:41 am

I will definitely throw down with a bread recipe and break in the mixer with some kneading!

Tracey June 9, 2010 at 10:42 am

Oh, I have been coveting one of these and wishing for one to magically appear in a second hand store…but if I were fortunate enough to win a shiny new one, I would first make my absolute favorite date bars that my grandmother always used to make for me, and I would share them with everyone I love.

Josh June 9, 2010 at 10:43 am

Breakfast sausages!

dave June 9, 2010 at 10:46 am

I’d get back into the fun world of Bauernbrot (German farm-bread). Many, many iterations of the stiff dough has ravaged my old 3-qt mixer; it sounds like a concrete mixer full of legos. :(

Indigo June 9, 2010 at 10:46 am

A great big three-layer celebration cake, of course! Shiny new KitchenAids are definitely reason enough to celebrate.

Nicole June 9, 2010 at 10:47 am

Jenny June 9, 2010 at 10:55 am

Some homemade golden raisin walnut bread! The KitchenAid makes bread baking SO much easier!

Kelley June 9, 2010 at 11:00 am

Ouhhh the first thing I want to make is some brioche! So much easier to kitchenaid it then mix by hand.

michele k June 9, 2010 at 11:01 am

A golden butter yellow cake. My favorite!

Traci June 9, 2010 at 11:02 am

I recently fell off a ladder, broke my wrist and elbow along with some ribs and have been craving chocolate chip cookies! The only problem is, I have food allergies to everything! I can’t have neighbors cook/bake for me because it is never safe enough. With a KitchenAid I could possibly make those gluten-free, soy free, dairy free cookies and not have to use both hands!!! Yum, I can taste them now!

Joanna June 9, 2010 at 11:08 am

I’ll make some marshmallows, strawberry to be precise. That needs 15 minutes of beating and you know I’m not doing that by hand!

Cindy June 9, 2010 at 11:09 am

A German Chocolate Cake!!!

Dan June 9, 2010 at 11:11 am

R. June 9, 2010 at 11:17 am

Chocolate chip cookies for my S.O. who is in Afghanistan (they’re his favorite). Then I’d come up with some excuse to make Italian meringue buttercream, making it with a hand mixer is a pain.

I would make a huge celebration gluten free cake!

Danica June 9, 2010 at 11:30 am

Some out of this world Ciabatta Bread with the dough hook attachment!

Kelly June 9, 2010 at 11:31 am

I’m going to make cookies. Lots of cookies. Cookie dough is such a huge pain if you don’t have a proper mixer, which I don’t! Gingerbread men, sugar cookie stars, double chocolate chip, and on and on and on!

Katie June 9, 2010 at 11:31 am

I’m going to make the cake I served everyone at my wedding 5 years ago, Kahlua Toffee Cake with Kahlua Whipped Cream, so moist and decadent!

I would make some fluffy buttercream frosting and eat it plain!!! Just light and sweet goodness in my mouth! :)

Eddie Lin June 9, 2010 at 11:38 am

I’ll make blood sausages out of the blood of a virgin swine and lost lamb. Season it with my entire collection of Knorr seasonings that are probably 5 years rancid. Then serve the whole sausage shebang at my BizarreBQ I’ll be having the weekend before July 4th, so rush that meat mixer over to me ASAP. My BBQ is at stake. Get it? Holy!!

xo,
Eddie

Doreen June 9, 2010 at 11:38 am

I’m going to make cookies with my new kitchenaid stand mixer – shortly after that I’ll be making some fresh pasta … I can’t wait to use it!!

Jamais Vu June 9, 2010 at 1:36 pm

Homemade bread!

Garick Chan June 9, 2010 at 1:36 pm

Banana bread! with walnuts, dried fruit, and spice of course! Otherwise, I might also possibly start the dough for bagels before finishing the kneading by hand. If I had the attachments, I’d totally be interested in learning how to make my own homemade pasta.

Alli P. June 9, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Yes! Definitely some homemade marshmallows! Nearly broke my handheld mixer attempting it last time…

gabby June 9, 2010 at 1:49 pm

I’d go for simple, just to test it out…maybe vanilla cupcakes! And then it would be time to get crazzzay! :)

Chelsea June 9, 2010 at 1:56 pm

Marge June 9, 2010 at 2:04 pm

I’m going to make soft pretzel dough for my neighbor and then give her the mixer with the dough in it – she is always saying how she’d die to have one but doesn’t have the money for it.

A luscious pavlova with strawberries sprinkeled with pink perrercornes.

Andrew June 9, 2010 at 2:49 pm

Going to make marshmallows. I lack the arm power to whip them by hand.

Jamie | My Baking Addiction June 9, 2010 at 3:07 pm

I would definitely be whipping together some fresh bread!

Dawn (KitchenTravels) June 9, 2010 at 3:10 pm

Jamie June 9, 2010 at 5:20 pm

I would make my boyfriend’s mom’s famous banana bread. The secret is freezing old bananas and defrosting them on the counter until they’re gooey. It would be amazing to use a KitchenAid Stand Mixer to get the perfect consistency and keep the bread moist.

Fiona June 9, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Chocolate chip cookies! My first experiment will be low-key hehe

RecipeTaster June 9, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Chocolate brownies definitely, ready for munching during the soccer world cup!

Sarah June 9, 2010 at 5:21 pm

kamran siddiqi June 9, 2010 at 5:21 pm

Awesome giveaway… Mom refuses to let me bring our mixer to college, so I need one for home and one for school… And saving a few hundred bucks, would seriously be awesome!

As for what I’d make in it… Definitely bagels, the first time it’s opened in my dorm room. I’m sure I’ll be making friends rather quickly, if I bake a couple dozen bagels.

Jen Cameron June 9, 2010 at 5:25 pm

In college I started collecting recipes from people I met in classes and roommates. Now it is a way for me to remember those cool people I met even if we don’t keep in touch often. (I went to college in Minnesota and live in Illinois). So the first thing I’d make is a wonderful Banana bread recipe given to me by one of my college roommates. :)

Anna June 9, 2010 at 5:33 pm

definitely some bread. i love me some homemade bread!

Anna June 9, 2010 at 5:34 pm

The absolute first thing I will make with my new mixer is a family recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation. It’s a basic white cake that is made from scratch. I will make it with my mom, like we have for the past 20 years. Then I will turn around and give the bright and shiny, spanking-new mixer to my mother, who has wanted one for years and just never wants to spend money on herself. I think that would make the cake taste THAT MUCH sweeter :)

ivoryhut June 9, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Heather June 9, 2010 at 5:37 pm

I would make homemade pasta.

Cara June 9, 2010 at 5:37 pm

Kate June 9, 2010 at 5:51 pm

I’m not going to make anything – I’m going to give it to my baby brother who has become a mad baker. He does all of our family holiday and birthday desserts – he shows up with two cheesecakes, 4 kinds of cookies and a cake – all from scratch and all by hand, every holiday – every birthday – without fail. I think a KitchenAid mixer would change his life for the better – and I can’t think of a better thank you!
He will make: a key lime cheesecake, pie dough for a blueberry pie, pizza dough to freeze for pizza / basketball night (GO CELTICS!!!), chocolate chip cookies, gingersnaps, and my grandmother’s gingerbread. Mmmmm. I can’t WAIT to give him his new KitchenAid!!!

Marshmallows. I’ve wanted to make my own fluffy marshmallows for a long time but each time I look at the step in the recipe where it says the mixture should be mixed for 12 to 15 minutes, I look at my hand mixer and I think of my arm cramping up. The stand mixer would make this step infinitely easier.

Laurel June 9, 2010 at 6:25 pm

Homemade bread. I will no longer covet my neighbor’s dough hook.

Betty June 9, 2010 at 7:07 pm

I’ve been trying to learn how to bake, but am failing miserably. I have dreams of a mixer and other such implements making my life in the kitchen a little easier, and should those dreams come true, I will finally make bread that does not weigh more than said mixer!

tigerfish June 9, 2010 at 9:23 pm

I don’t bake. With this beauty, I will go for a basic, classic butter cake which I thought should be an entry(beginner) cake for me :p

Thanks!

Samantha Nuber June 9, 2010 at 9:25 pm

What is the first thing I’d make with my Kitchenaid? I would make my best friend and my husband their birthday cake. Their birthday’s are one week apart. I’ve been planning a river get-away for all of us. I plan on making their cake for them (they each want different flavors) to take with us. I’ve begun working more with more advanced baking and this would make my life so much easier. At this point, I’ve burned out 4 hand mixers. They make a very bad smell when they blow up!

Katura June 9, 2010 at 9:26 pm

Mmmmmm… Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies.

holly June 9, 2010 at 9:41 pm

The first thing I would make would be sausage, for sure! Then maybe some meringues, then definitely some pecan turtle brownies, then lots of muffins…the list is endless!

If I am lucky enough to win I will be making a world cup feast for my friends and I.

As with any big game pizza will be the order of the day, and while the Kitchenaid does the hard work making the dough, I will be preparing the meat element by using the meat grinder attachment I would pick up.

Wendy June 10, 2010 at 7:17 am

I am thinking some biscotti, because my hand mixer cries each time I make it and I am sure at some point it is just going to go all full tantrum with a puff of smoke and just not work anymore.

It may be a little early for these, however, I have tried and miserably FAILED in the attempt to make gingerbread cookies. I burned out two handmixers in attempting to make ONE batch of gingerbread cookies last christmas. Instead of smelling the awesome smells of molasses and cinammon, all I got for christmas was the smell of melted machinery. :\ I need to be avenged.

I’m going to make whipped cream from coconut milk and put it on top of a tres leches cake recipe I just got from Witchy Kitchen. It’s not only delicious looking, it’s vegan! My heart sours!!!

The only thing that would make that cake any better is if I could make it with my Hello Kitchy Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer.

Mandy June 10, 2010 at 12:10 pm

I’d try to duplicate the deliciousness of Sugar Bakery’s (Seattle) Lemon Lavender cake!
All butter cake brushed with lavender syrup, filled with lemon cream, frosted with vanilla buttercream and garnished with lavender flowers. Best cake I’ve ever had!

BTW – I think I’d name mine Rocket Man b/c I love me some Elton while I’m baking. :)

Chris June 10, 2010 at 12:10 pm

Banana nut bread!

Anne B. June 10, 2010 at 12:12 pm

Ian June 10, 2010 at 12:12 pm

I’m going to make a really really really good banana cream pie!

John June 10, 2010 at 12:13 pm

I would make my triple chocolate chip cookies. Over the years I have broken so many wooden spoons making these cookies, that I had to buy a special extra sturdy, hardwood spoon just to make cookies with. It’s been well loved, but only can do so much. It’s time for a Kitchen Aid to come to the rescue. And when I’ve made that, then it’s a Tunnel of Fudge cake.

Paystyle June 10, 2010 at 12:13 pm

First I’ll make cupcake batter. Then I’ll make pancake batter, which I’ll use to batter the baked cupcakes, which I will then fry. Then I’ll die.

Shea June 10, 2010 at 12:15 pm

The first thing I would have to make would be a lemon coconut buttermilk pie. YUM.

Jeremy Flowers June 10, 2010 at 12:16 pm

Homemade summer sausages! Perfect for grilling.

Rob June 10, 2010 at 2:07 pm

Pie! Lots and lots of pie with oh so flaky crust

Danicia June 10, 2010 at 2:11 pm

Chocolate. Stout. Brownies. With Guinness. Amazing!

Valerie June 10, 2010 at 5:24 pm

The first thing I’m going to bake is a huge batch of Jacques Torres chocolate chip cookies. And for once, not worry about an overheated hand mixer dying out half-way through the recipe.

The Mermaid June 10, 2010 at 5:37 pm

Ima gonna make shortbread cookies. Yup. Absolutely!

Food Marathon June 10, 2010 at 5:48 pm

I would record the sound of the mixer mixing and use it as the baseline to a song called Tastespotting. The percussion would all be made with pots and pans. The lyrics would go something like: “Everytime my net is down, I can’t help but frown, I don’t know what to eat, how to cook my beets. Cause Tastespotting makes plotting meals a treat, cake frosting much more sweet, baked pot pies filled with meat.”

Kate June 10, 2010 at 6:10 pm

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Cake! I don’t have an egg beater either, so I have to whip those egg whites by hand! So light, so moist, so chocolately…. I can’t wait!

Amanda Sun June 10, 2010 at 7:58 pm

I’d be making macarons!!! Signature of mine; need a larger electric mixer for larger batches of crispy chewy delightful meringue cookies…

mina June 11, 2010 at 12:14 am

i’d love to make something fancy, but the first thing would probably end up being artisan bread (in five minutes a day)… it’s been such a discovery; i rarely buy bread now. (:

Kristen June 11, 2010 at 12:41 am

5-Layer Dark Chocolate Bing Cherry Cake, with layers of fresh whipped cream and covered in a rich Chocolate Ganache, decorated with hand-dipped Bing Cherries and gold flecks. I would serve it with a sparkling dessert wine, and rich coffee with a drop of cream.

Diana June 11, 2010 at 1:10 am

I’m going to make hot love to my wicked awesome boyfriend on the kitchen counter right next to the mixer. One hand on the mixer at all times. My first threesome. AWESOME!

Laura June 11, 2010 at 5:56 am

bacon dark chocolate brownies

nisha June 11, 2010 at 6:50 am

I will make tiramisu…its been the worst for me to keep holding my hand blender and whisk egg whites till they become stiff..the free standing mixer would make life a whole lot easier:)

I’m not sure if this only open to US residents, but I may as well try and enter, just in case! I miss my KA stand mixer – had to leave it behind when I left for Australia. The first thing I would make with my KitchenAid stand mixer would be the chocolate cupcakes decorated with fondant dragonflies for my daughter’s 5th birthday. :)

JennEJenn June 11, 2010 at 3:01 pm

Rosa June 11, 2010 at 4:23 pm

Oh good lord, I’d make EVERYTHING! Yes, because I’ve got super human powers that allows me to bend space and time. But I think the first thing I’d make would be meatballs….ginger pork meatballs. Actually, I’d just use the meat mixture as filling to make dumplings like I used to as a little girl with my mom. Ah memories…

Ginny Crabb June 11, 2010 at 5:06 pm

Frosting! Beautiful frosting with melted chocolate in it.

My famous Orange Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!

kAt June 14, 2010 at 5:28 pm

The first thing I’ll make with my KitchenAid stand mixer is red velvet cupcakes with NON-cream cheese icing ;-) I found a great recipe and I’ve been tweaking it to be a tad healthier. The last time I made them with soy milk in the icing instead of heavy cream and they came out fantastic! Thinking of some more things I may do to make them more healthy and just as yummy. I know with the splatter shield the KitchenAid comes with, I won’t get spots of red everywhere including on myself like I do with my thrift store special vintage Sunbeam.

Casey June 14, 2010 at 5:28 pm

Chocolate-chocolate chip cookies!!!!

Kristen June 14, 2010 at 5:29 pm

Matt June 14, 2010 at 5:33 pm

Mashed potatoes for sure!

Suzanne Pablo June 14, 2010 at 5:37 pm

I would make blueberry scones.

Christina June 14, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Chocolate pavlova, since a KitchenAid mixer can whip the crap out of egg whites and make a mean meringue!

Katie M. June 14, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Red Velvet Cake! It’s my coworkers’ favorite. :D

Jonathan June 14, 2010 at 5:40 pm

Good old fashioned chocolate chunk cookies, with bittersweet chocolate of course!

Rachael June 14, 2010 at 5:41 pm

First thing? Whipped cream. I usually make it by hand, so that would be quite the indulgence! Yay Kitchenaid!

Anne June 14, 2010 at 5:42 pm

A 3-tier wedding cake for my own upcoming wedding! It would definitely help a lot because trying to make enough batter for a 12-inch cake is not easy with a hand mixer!

Kate O June 14, 2010 at 5:43 pm

Nutella Brownies. My favorite thing ever.

Rebecca June 14, 2010 at 5:43 pm

Missy Renee June 14, 2010 at 5:47 pm

What is the first thing you are going to make with your own KitchenAid® Stand Mixer?

I plan on making a multi-layer chocolate cake with a raspberry and alternate ganache filling for my daughters 21st birthday! The gorgeous stand mixer would be much loved! I have a tone of other recipes too to break it in.

JMForester June 14, 2010 at 5:47 pm

Bread, I haven’t made home made bread since my last mixer died ten years ago

Karen S. June 14, 2010 at 5:48 pm

Obviously some delicious recipe from Tastespotting! Just duh!

But probably some summertime cupcakes, perhaps those Margarita ones I bookmarked the other day.

Jenny Poole June 14, 2010 at 5:49 pm

My grandmother’s divinity recipe! It can only be made in a kitchen aid, and if I have one she’ll be able to retire from making it.

Heather P June 14, 2010 at 6:09 pm

I recently got married (2 weeks ago!) and even though I had a KitchenAid Stand Up Mixer on my registry, it sadly still remains there. When I finally get my mixer, I’m going to make pizza dough. Yeah, it sounds boring, but top that golden crust with some roasted squash, fontina cheese, caramelized onions, and sage…those are toppings my new KitchenAid can be proud of!

Deanna June 14, 2010 at 6:10 pm

Strawberry Meringue Pie! No doubt about it!

aaron colman June 14, 2010 at 6:11 pm

I would make a pavlova because when I wanted to make it last time as I had my Australian family over (they regularly have family wars as to who can choose the best fruit pairing for it) my Kenwood chef mixer died. Stupid wedding present lasted 4 years. My Grandma cheered me up with her homemade bread from her KitchenAid – its older than me……

Lisa Levy June 14, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Stacey Parzik June 14, 2010 at 6:32 pm

Wow! I would love the recipes for dome of the things I’m reading here! I would try the ice cream cake I saw on Nigella Lawson’s show the other day. It looked like the perfect ending to a summer meal.

Audrey Horn June 14, 2010 at 6:32 pm

I’m going to whip up the world’s best chocolate chip cookies for my hubby’s birthday. I’ve used my hand and handheld mixer, they won’t do it right. So pleeze pleeze pick me!

I am going to make a double batch of my white chocolate chip salty oatmeal cookies…mmmm ;)

Jessica T June 14, 2010 at 6:52 pm

I don’t usually bake with my mom (because I like baking sweets…hehe), but she wants to try making breads. I think it would also speed up the process for her making dumplings skins for potstickers and Xiao Long Bao-people call them “dumplings” as well, but they’re more like tiny, baby buns to me. Mmmmmmmmmm. I can’t emphasis the delicious-ness.

Q June 14, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Probably scones:) Ina Garten’s Cranberry Orange Scones. I would take them to my office b/c otherwise I will eat them all and get terribly chubby…

The first thing that I am going to make with my own KitchenAid® Stand Mixer is a Cake for my kids. Never used a KitchenAid® Stand Mixer to mix the cake batter .Always used a hand mixer.

I heard that if we Mix cake batter with KitchenAid® Stand Mixer the batter will be so smooth and cakes will be very soft and pluffy :)

Would love to use KitchenAid® Stand Mixer :) and wish to have my own KitchenAid® Stand Mixer soon. Fingers Crossed

Thanks for the Chance.

Tiger Gray June 14, 2010 at 7:11 pm

I have an idea for sticky buns that involve strawberry jam, white chocolate, and crushed pistachios. I would use the mixer for the dough first.

Michael Gillen June 14, 2010 at 7:12 pm

Cinnamon buns! Yep – definitely cinnamon buns. Mmmmm!

Professor Salt June 14, 2010 at 7:13 pm

Lemon marscapone cupcakes with strawberry glaze. I’ve done it by hand (with the help of a hand mixer), but even better to make with a kitchenaid stand mixer!

I’m thinking I’m going to make either a flourless chocolate tort or a cheesecake, for both of which I have excellent recipes that I’ve been dieing to use but don’t turn out as well with just my sad little hand mixer. But probably cheesecake first!

Nelson June 14, 2010 at 8:29 pm

I think I’d have to whip up a batch of cinnamon-raisin english muffins.

Roxanne Wallis June 14, 2010 at 9:08 pm

Maybe I’ll make some thumbprint cookies with fig preserves or blueberry lemon pound cake. There’s so much that can be done with that mixer.

Julie June 14, 2010 at 9:10 pm

Bread — probably oatmeal bread.

Elisabeth A June 14, 2010 at 9:16 pm

I would make foccaccia and cookies with white chocolate, coconut and macadamia nuts for dessert!

Megan Ashman June 14, 2010 at 10:19 pm

GeorgiaMist June 14, 2010 at 11:26 pm

The very first thing I’ll make is my late Nanie’s pound cake:
One pound (9 large) eggs
One pound of sugar
One pound of self-rising flour
One pound of sweet cream, salted butter
One Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Mix in my new Kitchenaid Mixer for 3 minutes, bake in loaf pan for 45 minutes on 375 degrees.
Serve hot with whipped cream and fond memories!
