It’s a tie between the Pan Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Shiitakes and Smoked Paprika (as an adult I’m re-learning to like eating brussels sprouts) and my sweet tooth: strawberry “shortcake” with cornbread and tarragon whipped cream (with berry season upon us, it looks like a yummy summer treat).
My favorite is Spicy vegetarian spaghetti alla carbonara. I fell in love with anything carbonara on a trip to Rome many years ago!

The Pan Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Shiitakes and Smoked Paprika recipe is my absolute favorite. I love Brussel Sprouts, and especially when you can find a way to load
the with flavor. The Shiitakes and the smoked paprika add so much to brussel sprouts, enhancing their flavor. Somehow the richness of the flavor feels like an indulgence, but really it is a healthily prepared side dish or even main dish.

The red lentil and kabocha squash soup– so flavorful and filling! The perfect (and delicious) pick-me-up. I’m a huge kabocha fan! Can’t wait to see more recipes from the cookbook.

Persimmon carpaccio with fennel salad-this is such an elegant appetizer/salad course. I made it with asian pear because the persimmons at the market weren’t nearly ripe enough, but it was still amazing.
I love fennel, so his recipe for braised fennel looks and sounds super yummy, and yet so simple I can’t wait to try it out!

It is a very unique original way to serve a traditional Cuban meal. It is gluten free, vegan and served beautifully. I will be making this soon!

I like any kind of upside down cake. These are quite a sight when you turn them out at tableside. vrn if the turnout fails, the product is always a hit, no matter what they are made of, Lemons, Limes, even Grapefruit are some of my favs although I’ve not made any in a while. Now I have to! LOL

I’ve made a few of Michael’s recipes but my favorite thing is his salt post. I’ve forwarded that to dozens and dozens of friends who think using salt is going to give them high blood pressure. It’s raising MY blood pressure that they say that! Food is tasteless without salt and I’m glad someone addressed this. Thank you Michael!
