Yes, it’s almost officially winter. Yes, it’s 12 degrees outside. Yes, it’s nighttime by 4 PM.
Who in their right minds would go camping right now?! …
We would.
In our living room.
I don’t actually “camp.” Ever. At least not since my family’s one (and only) adventure in “roughing it,” staying in a non-resort hotel at Yellowstone National Park when I was in elementary school.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate the fun things about camping: grilling what we’ve “caught” for dinner from the local butcher, making s’mores over a fire (in the fireplace), and telling ghost stories while drinking hot chocolate from giant tin cups.
We (and you!) can do that anytime in your house with the cool cookware and stuff from Jacob Bromwell, a small, specialty housewares company that makes old-school, authentic campfire, kitchen and fireplace things. They sent us a few things, and we’re giving them away so you can “camp” comfortably at home (or obviously, outside when it gets warm again)!
- awesome Campfire Grill to cook up that big fish you “caught”
- Popcorn Popper to pop REAL popcorn
- 4 BBQ Skewers, perfect for indoor s’mores!
- 4 BIG Tin Cups for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, vodka, um you know, whatever

The smell. I love the smell of leaves and campfire smoke. That is the best thing about camping.
I love almost everything about camping (Except the bugs). My favorite thing has to be the campfire games…and guitar by the fire. Could it get any better? The most awesome thing though is when my husband brings gourmet ingredients along with us and cooks up a mean pork loin & full spread of sides!
I shared this on Twitter. I’m @ChangingKitchen
I simply love waking up to the crispy cool air of the woods! There is nothing like it! It’s so invigorating and peaceful at the same time!
my favorite thing about camping is getting away from technology for a little and spending quality time with your friends/family — plus the BBQ is always good.
My mom is a cooking-over-the-fire aficionado so definitely the best part of camping is the elaborate and delicious meals we pull together and enjoy over an entire afternoon around the fire.
My favorite part of camping is going hiking and taking photographs.
My favorite thing is the bonfire.
smores! nothing can beat the classic :)
I love sleeping in tents!
the best part of camping is sitting around the fire with friends and roasting marshmallows!!
I remember the last time we camping as a family we had the best time playing games so the kids wouldnt get bored and the funniest game we playd was a jungle relay race , it was hillarious and after we had smores with homemade marhmellows and homemade ghram crackers , this set would have been such a help …
I LOVE camping! My favorite part is that instead of worrying about work or house cleaning or day to day drama, all I have to worry about is where I will sleep and what I will eat. It really helps remind me that all I need are the basics and I can still have a good time.
I’m 29 years old and I went camping for the first time in my life this past summer. I had always wanted to go but never had the opportunity. I loved it so much we went camping four more times! I even went fishing for the first time (on a camping trip)! I would say the part I loved most was sitting around a campfire, drinking beer, making s’mores, roasting weenies, and laughing with friends and family.
My favorite thing about camping is eating s’mores!
I love sitting around a campfire and doing absoltely nothing except laughing, talking, sharing stories, and enjoying each others company. Oh yeah and that first cup of coffee made on the camp stove in the cold morning air.
I love just getting away from everything!
Everything!
My favorite thing about camping is the fresh air. And Smores, of course. YUM!
my fav things when Im camping are my frends that are there with me :)
Peace and quiet, and late nights around the campfire!
Being with friends in the great outdoors!!
Howdy!
Quiet is what I like best
I love cooking and eating s’mores after a long day of hiking!
Favorite thing about camping is the time when all your family and friends gather around the campfire and enjoy the cookout while listening to stories! Bonding time with food and adventure! :)
As a child my father would take our family, including three young kids camping in the Pacific Northwest in the rain every year. To this day, the idea of sitting in the rain with lukewarm hot chocolate under an old blue tarp puts a smile on my face.
Camping for me has always been a family affair, I have such fond memories of being a kid and camping with my brother and my parents. Spider dogs, sunburns, and cozy campfire nights are just a few things that bring a smile to my face when thinking about camping. My favourite thing about camping is having the ones I love with me.
My favorite thing about camping is waking up in the morning still in my tent, looking forward to the adventure ahead.
I love the smell of campfire cooking (mostly the caramelized/burnt sugar from s’mores) and falling asleep to the embers crackling as the fire dies.
Cooking great vegetarian brats over a fire.
Also, getting snowed on overnight!
BBQ’ed artichokes with Kerry Gold Garlic and Herb butter right over that campfire!
Fire-roasted vegetables under a starry sky with a close friend is a magical moment.. even during the winter!
Obviously the food! Everything tastes better cooked over an open fire!
Everything tastes better while camping!
My favorite thing about camping is sleeping under the stars!
Camping is awesome when the weather behaves. I think my favorite part is the food and the camp fire. Roasting smores and hot dogs is always fun (and I don’t even like hot dogs). Inhaling the scent of burning wood and pine needles, looking up at the starry sky, telling ghost stories and scaring the pants off the little ones….ahhh the great outdoors!
I don’t really enjoy camping, either. There’s just a lot that’s unappealing about dirty feet and changing hunched over in a slightly damp and musty tent! However, s’mores and roasted hotdogs are most definitely awesome!
the smell of the campfire!
my fav part, definitely the campfire! and smores making! its not camping without smores!
My favorite thing about camping is dutch oven cooking.
Favorite thing about camping is showing friends how being in the woods and cooking over a fire doesn’t mean we have to eat hot dogs!
Going to sleep after a long night by the campfire!
The challenge of making “gourmet” camping food! I remember when I was pretty young our family went camping for my grandmother’s 75th birthday and she managed to cook lobster, roasted root veggies, and all kinds of delicious things to perfection over a fire. I still bring trail mix but I try to do at least some “fancy” camping cooking too.
the freshness when eating outdoors like salads for a day trip or something :D
Looks awesome!
Smores?
Wow – I love the idea of both the popcorn popper and the grill pan to hold over the campfire! That looks so much easier than having to pull out one of those clunky chimney firepot thing-a-ma-bobs that my husband likes to bring…but makes me use!
By far my favorite thing about camping is the quality time my husband and I get to have with each other–no cell phone, computer, distractions–nothing but the simplicity and beauty of God’s nature and the enjoyment of spending time alone with the hubby!
My favorite thing about camping is the time spent with my family + friends, and the enjoyment of spending an evening outdoors with the big open sky and a cozy fire to keep warm.
Definitely the part where we all help out with the cooking, then sit down enjoy the food and talk have some good laughs until the booze runs out!
Lying under the stars after a long day of hiking and swimming watching the northern lights along the beautiful lake shores of Northern Canada munching on some s’mores and other delicious camping snacks. There is nothing quite like it.
Sleeping in a tent in the rain.
My favorite thing about camping is…making those really last friendships which end up not-working out…
I love the smell of the campfire still in my hair and sleeping bag when I get back to the rush of the city in los angeles.
I love everything about camping but mostly the taste of food cooked outside over the fire after a long hike. humm. I shouldn’t say but I also love not having to bug the kids about showering etc….
I’m so not an outdoorsy person, but I’ve been forced along a number of camping trips. They always end horribly with sprained ankles, spiders in the tent and a million mosquito bites, but there is one thing I always enjoy. I absolutely love the smell of the campfire which makes everything that comes off of it taste super yummy and delicious :) I would go camping again just for that (though maybe it can just be a half-day trip in the forest behind the local park…)
I love utilize the concept of small and simple when cooking in a camp. I especially love making sandwich bag omelets. Just have eggs, pre-diced veggies and meat, and some cheese. place them in a bag and boil them for a few minutes. Voila! quick and easy breakfast!!
My favorite thing about camping is sitting around a camp fire for hours, telling stories and roasting marshmallows.
My favorite thing about camping is being away from all the electronics. It’s so relaxing to not be surrounded by emails and tv.
Making a fire our in the open :) dvds coming fresh caught fish
Believe it or not, I love the showers when you’re camping! After sweating all day long nothing feels better than a cold bucket shower.
My favourite thing about camping is the enormous amount of food and drink one can sock away but know that all the swimming, all the hiking, and all the laughing will work it off.
Roasting marshmallows around a campfire with friends.
um hello of course my favorite thing about camping is the food! bear claws dipped in honey and cinnamon sugar! s’mores! stew, hot dogs, hamburgers and those little reynold’s wrap baked chicken dinners! (ex girl scout here lol)
ngallo58 at gmail dot com
Making s’mores, of course! :) And just sitting around the campfire, telling stories, laughing, and just having a good time with friends and family.
I love waking up early in the morning and starting a fire to warm up by….
Yum!
I love getting away from the city and the electronic distractions. One of my favorite things about camping is the connectivity and conversations that are able to be had while enjoying nature and minimal distractions.
Stories around the campfire!
There’s so much to love about camping! The immediacy of stargazing, the dusky perfume of campfire smoke, secretly fantasizing about living this way for the rest of your life. Simplicity, self-reliance, honesty. People open up over a campfire.
My favorite thing about camping is spending time time with family and friends.
I have never EVER gone camping but have been wanting to take my family. This would bring the camping experience into our living room! Yes!
I love the fact that my whole family gets together to go camping and we all actually get along. Every time we go, someone is the designated smores materials bringer and we all sit around the fire and actually try to tell ghost stories but they never seem to be scary. I just love the family time I get to have with camping.
I love the s’mores!
When your friends marshmallow catches fire and burns past what they think is eatable so they give it to you and you can just slide the hard burnt crust off and eat the soft melted interior. :)
<3
the backcountry board’s breakdown and build-up:
stuffing and crunching ziplock bags of breakfast, lunch, and dinner into barely recognizable mangled messes that scrunch besides your sleeping bag, your hot back rubbing them in all the wrong ways
(think creamy peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches at the bottom of your grade school knapsack, the wondrous way wonder bread moulds into wonders)
to their subsequent treatment as precious cargo, hung fifteen feet high and glorious in bear boxes,
as if one’s life depended on it (and one’s life depends on it)
to the best meal you have ever had atop a mountain somewhere between the middle of nowhere and endless sky.
see.
unravel it shaky, hands salty with sweat and trembling tired. swallow it dry and ravenous, wash it down with water and iodine tablets, and wipe the back of your fist across your mouth
until your lips reach your elbow.
smile. this is backcountry board.
I love being in the outdoors with my friends, huddled around a fire and just enjoying each others’ company. :)
Communing with Nature!!
Sitting around the campfire (and s’mores)! :)
Oh, what a fun giveaway! My favorite thing about camping is that the food simply taste better. I don’t know why and how. But I guess it’s the environment that enhanced the flavor of the food. :) It’s a lot of fun “fighting” for the very last hot dog on the camp fire grill as well. :P
My most absolute favorite thing about camping is the beautiful roaring sound the fire makes.
I love smores! Even though, honestly, cooking marshmallows on a gas stove is so much more efficient than those campfires… XD
“Why only shipping to the US !?”
Being your Canadian neighbour I’m not eligible for this contest but I’d just like to say that I really appreciate this beautiful community called Tastespotting.
And that my favourite part of camping is the Northern Lights. :)
My favorite thing about camping is travelling out far enough to see the stars clearly.
I’m at peace just thinking about making campfire potatoes, having a few drinks around a toasty fire, and gazing at the crystal-clear skies filled with more stars than imaginable. As long as you the food is in a bear box and there are enough layers to stay warm at night, it doesn’t get any better.
My favorite thing about camping is indeed trying to cook interesting things over the fire :) Thanks for the great giveaway!
I love falling asleep while watching the stars, and love waking up to the smells of coffee and bacon (heck no I’m not the first up!)
love!
I love sitting around the campfire with friends and food! Mmmm!
What I love most about camping is lying awake at night when it’s quiet and listening to all the interesting sounds that nature has to offer. It’s a nice change from all the city noise that I’m used to.
My favorite thing about camping?
When they provide conditioner.
Camping for me is when I stay in a hotel without turn down service. One is lucky to get soap, let alone conditioner!
I love spending time away from technology…no email, no cell phones, and TVs!!
Now that I live in the city, I enjoy seeing the stars at night and hearing the loons calling (we live in Minnesota).
I love the warm campfire when it is getting a little brisk in the evening.
Love waking up early in the morning and making a pot of coffee over last nights coals, woods are always so serene before everything is awake!
My favorite thing about camping is by far the whole atmosphere! I particularly love the smell of the fire, how it permeates your clothes. I also love burnt marshmallows-You really can’t go wrong with burnt sugar!
The best thing about camping is: Sitting infront of the fire and watching the flames dance on the logs.
I love the opportunity to cook over coals after enjoying a lovely fire.
my favorite thing about camping is the gear. i have a super nice sleeping bag (for women so there’s extra room for the hips), a large sturdy tent, all the north face rain/weather/elements clothing, lantern, etc. it would be nice to use it one day and not just store it in the house. =)
definitely my favorite things are s’mores :)
let the marshmallow burn!
I’ve never been camping! Maybe if i offered tasty camping treats someone would take me :(
My favorite part of camping is the campfire :)
My favorite thing about camping is crawling out of the tent in the morning and drinking the best tasting coffee and eating pancakes, bacon and skillet potatoes…made by someone else.
My favorite thing about camping is getting to take a shower when you finally come home!
I love the cooking in the fire and waking up early in the morning way before I ever would at home.
the campfire grill!
The best thing about camping is sitting by a roaring campfire, too hot on one side of your body and too cold on the other, with your back to a (mostly) successfully pitched campsite, eyes drooping as you get ready to crawl into your ultra-thick mummy sleeping bag and sleep in complete tranquility.
My favorite thing about camping is sleeping outside with the fresh air and quiet.
I love the BBQ!
I have the privilege of camping in the Pacific Northwest, where bugs are limited and the ocean works away at the shore shadowed by tall trees. I just love being outside, smelling the campfire, breathing the fresh air, and not having an agenda.
My favorite thing about camping is building up the campfire. Call me a pyro, lol! Cooking over that same fire is also incredibly satisfying.
I like to camp in the winter when the spiders and snakes are hibernating.
Love love love falling asleep under the stars and the scent of post-campfire on my hair.
My favorite thing about camping is not having to be anyplace or do anything at a certain time!
Instead of going to church, I go camping. I feel closer to God out in Nature than I do sitting in a pew. :)
I’m in Alabama…it’s 55*. We camp year round down here. My favorite part of camping is the food, of course. I like to try different stuff than the regular hot dogs and s’mores. My favorite memory is camping on Thanksgiving day. Gorgeous weather, family, and cooking a full t-day dinner over a campfire.
I love the nature, delicious food, and good company that comes with hiking during the day and camping under the stars. A personal favorite has become our family’s special hot chocolate – cocoa, Bailey’s, Kahlua, and Amaretto! Om nom nom!
I love camp food; vegan sausages, chili, granola…everything is just amazing
I love the feeling of being together around the campfire and smores!
grilling and chilling around the campfire :)
Favorite thing about camping is the feeling of close community. Marshmallow s’mores are a close second.
My favorite thing about camping is definitely laying out and watching the stars with a warm cup of hot chocolate. Those are the special moments that you only get being away from the world for a little while
We used to take our campers camping and make amazing dinners and breakfasts over the campfire…mmmm
Making s’mores!
I love campfires, its not just my favorite thing about camping, but its one of my all time favorites!
The best thing about camping is definitely sitting around the campfire, drinking beer (or tea that tastes slightly of the dinner you just ate), and waiting for the apple-puff pastry to finish cooking in its little foil packet. And hiking. And boating. And chasing bears away from the apple-puff pastry that just finished cooking.
I love going camping and eat… and eat… and eat…
What I love about camping is that it is a true test of friendship. It is only the truest of friends that will go through with a camping trip with you during the Freak Snowstorm of 2011 in October along the Northeast coast, even though we were all minimally experienced campers yet too stubborn to cancel the trip. It is your closest of friends that will drive through a snowstorm to get to the campsite to set up while all the sensible folks pack up and leave. These are the people you eat like kings with around the campfire, cooking delicious marinated meats, corn, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, grilled apples, and s’mores. These are the friends that keep you feeling warmer than any fire as you huddle in a tent, trying to sleep through the freezing night.
I can’t honestly say I camp, but I do “glamp” (glamorous camping) which gives us the best of camping (real food cooked over an open fire, an idyllic setting, stars overhead, and the joy of our kids riding bikes well into the night) – yet with a king bed and a down comforter. Love Cabin glamping!
When I was a kid, I loved camping because my parents would let me and my brother stay up as late as we wanted to play with the other kids! Now I appreciate the beautiful scenery and serene surroundings when I get back to nature.
My favorite thing about camping is being able to pee outdoors without feeling like a drunk or a bum!
Love cooking. Love camping. This would make my dreams.
Discovering what really matters (values & physical things) to myself and others while being secluded from the noise of the world.
my favorite thing is that you are able to really appreciate and enjoy the company of your loved ones- family or friends- for a little while without all the materialistic things that we worry about and its a nice break from the insanely busy NYC life
I love camping because you get to sleep outside and share yummy food made in creative c
I love camping because I am a big fan of sleeping outdoors!!
The food! We always do a Low Country boil when we camp and it is so delicious. We get fresh prawns and try to buy the corn from a farm stand. Now I am so hungry!
love sitting near the fire with a cup of hot chocolate :)
Sleeping under the stars!
My favorite things about camping are the very things this contest is about – the delicious campfire foods that result. Whether it’s s’mores or chicken-in-foil. Mmm mmm.
My favorite thing about camping is the smell of the campfire.
i love everything about camping! sleeping under the stars, bundling up in a sleeping bag, camp fires, and S’MORES! yum
star-gazing with a warm drink in hand
i love the smell of camping and fire pits!
my favorite thing about camping is sitting in front of the fire and seeing so many
stars in the night sky
Love the tin mugs.
Favorite thing about camping? Being out hiking and working up a good appetite. Hunger makes the best sauce!
Love the peace of birds chirping, the bonding without technology interuptions and waking everyone with bacon smells:)
My favorite thing about camping has to be sleeping in the open air. My least favorite thing about camping is monsoons. :)
My favorite thing about camping is sitting around the fire and sharing stories with family. Our camping was always in Big Sur or Mendocino or places like that, so I also enjoyed hiking and/or going to the beach.
Best thing about camping is drinking around a giant fire! The smell of burning wood is always amazing.
Love being outdoors! Food cooked over a campfire tastes great!
The hiking part of it, or the waking up early on a super cool morning!
I haven’t been camping since I was a small child. However, we do have a nice fire pit set up in our backyard and so do our neighbors. We love to get a good fire going and sit around and talk and just enjoy each other’s company. Great times!
Tastespotting is one of my daily go-to websites – I love the different food ideas presented and the pictures are so mouthwatering that I can only peruse it after a meal.
My absolute favorite thing about camping (tents or caravans – though latter is preferred) is when it’s raining as you’re ready to go to sleep. The sound of the raindrops on the canvas or roof of the caravan is immensely soothing and as long as there are no leaks and I’m dry and snug, falling asleep to the pitter-patter sound is worth the lack of comfort.
I’m like you, I don’t camp, so much as “camp”. I do love smores though!
Favorite thing about camping has to be the smores.
the smell of the fire.
the smell of the fire
The best thing about camping is being outdoors!
I love just being outside. Of course I’m a little pyromaniac and was in charge of the fire pit growing up when we went camping.
I love sitting under the canopy while it rains, sipping coffee and listening to the rain falling all around us.
My favourite thing about camping is those moments right before going to sleep at night, when I get into my sleeping bag and it’s so warm and cozy and all you can hear is crackling of the campfire dying and the wind and waves in the background (I usually camp by lakes).
My favourite thing about camping is not being mauled by bears or strung up from the trees in & eaten by a Leviathan-manufactured human mutant!
When I’m not watching Supernatural, my favourite thing about camping is pretending I’m a pioneer, or a Texan cowboy on the trails, makin’ my beans for the cattle drive.
I have to say that s’mores and sitting around the campfire is my favorite part… as long as it’s only mildly cold out. I’m kind of an outdoor wimp, which is why our firepit is the perfect solution for me. We can pretend to camp!
Cooking around the fire is my favorite part about camping. Everything tastes better that way and it’s fun to try to make a nice meal without the comfort of your home kitchen appliances.
I love getting away from all the distractions in life and just hanging out with your family/friends. Sometimes it’s good to have no tv or cell phone :)
Campfire cooking is the best!
Smoking Ham and pork loins for the whole group. Grilling pizzas over an open flame. Those are some of our favorite camping memories.
the best thing about camping is spending time with people you care about!
My favorite part about camping is getting away from technology for one day and enjoying the beauty of nature with my family. I love going for hikes and making smores around the campfire!
Making Smores!!!
I think my favorite thing about camping is sharing the time with my family…especially the kids. It’s so fun to share in the excitement of finding a toad on a hike, or swinging out on a rope into the water. How anxious they are for the campfire to be ready for s’mores. Then sharing some stories around the fire.
My favorite thing about camping is spending time with friends and family in a beautiful setting where we can all forget about our technology and overbooked lives and just be together reminiscing and making new memories.
I love sleeping in a tent with my kids, I know it sounds crazy but I actually really enjoy it.
Getting away and wandering to beautiful spaces.
That smell of the outdoors when you wake up in the morning under a dewy tent.
My favorite thing about camping is the escape it provides and the realization of what is real and what matters that you feel when you are away from all of the hustle of city life and back in touch with nature. I always feel reconnected and grounded when I am roughing it out there…and the peace of laying under the stars- there is nothing like it. Camping is something my family and I enjoy doing as much as possible. It brings us closer and helps remind us of the bigger world out there.
S’mores!
The stories. It almost always happens that everyone sits around the fire late into the night telling each other stories and just talking and catching up. It always feels like its been just an hour but in reality its been more like 6.
The thing I enjoy most about camping is the relaxation. There is no deadlines or guidelines where you need to be. No crowds to deal with, etcetera…
Favorite thing about camping is how great food tastes cooked outdoors!
My favorite thing about camping is going to sleep with a belly full of goodness and the scent of the fire you just put out. That mixed with the strong odor of the trees and earth, in addition to the smoke on your clothes. There’s nothing quite like it!
I love waking up to the smell of a campfire and sounds of nature first thing in the morning
Breakfast.
Favorite thing about camping: competing to find the best sticks and making smores on them!
fresh air!!
This is an AWESOME time for this giveaway! I’ve been thinking about camping a ton, lately. My daughter and I didn’t manage to go camping this past summer – first time we’ve missed since we started going when she was little – so I’m already anxious for camping season to come around for 2012. The items in the giveaway are great – our current s’mores skewers are really cheap junk, we don’t have a grill pan or a popcorn popper, and nothing goes better with evening s’mores and popcorn than big mugs of hot tea. Thanks for the chance to win these!
smores!
I love spending time outdoors with friends – and the s’mores!
I love/hate being away from my devices — but mostly love.
my favorite thing about camping is the getting away from distractions and focusing on the friends and family your with.
smelling like a wood fire all day long–love it!
We just love to see our kids get too excited about camping. It is the best quality family time and knowing that kids will remember it for the rest of their lives.
My favorite thing about camping is the end of the day, when my family’s caught (or made a valiant, all-day effort) the lot of fish in Virginia Lakes, CA and we’re back at our old, hand-built cabin and the food first hits the hot grill over the campfire and we’re toasting to a fun day! Soon after, we’re telling ghost and bear stories to scare our friends whilst replenishing our calories burnt from the high-altitude hikes with gooey s’mores and whiskey on the rocks. Thank you for the cabin and memories, Grandpa! <3
What I love about camping is that everyone is unconnected by wires and connected instead together through talk and food and general good times. It’s a nice break from video games
One of the things I love about camping is being able to see the stars after getting away from the light pollution in the city! I also like that feeling of “getting away from it all” and putting down the electronics to simply enjoy nature [:
Favorite thing about camping? Roasting marshmallows, of course. And hotdogs. The only way hotdogs taste good! Happy Holidays!
My favorite thing about camping – watching my son play with sticks/stones/bugs/fire/etc and having more fun than he ever does with his electronic gadgets.
That, or the food…pass the truffle salt for the popcorn please!
The best thing about camping is (since I live in the middle of the desert) getting away from the plain, dusty, boring, arid, and hot landscape I’ve been cooped up in for so long.
Yes please:)
I like this tea I recently purchased from the St. James Tearoom in Albuquerque New Mexico. It’s called “D’Anjou Green”. It ‘s a green tea infused with the essence of pear – it sure is good!!
My absolute favorite thing about camping is making smores!! There’s nothing more delicious than roasted marshmallows against the melting chocolate and graham crackers….ahh!
My favorite thing about camping is the fact that it is great for groups.
Its never fun with few people. And I am a very social person. SO its a nice way to hang out with friends who also like camping out.
I have never been camping.
popcorn in a fire-top popper
S’mores :)
My favorite thing about camping is sitting next my hubbie chatting over the beautiful bon fire, enjoying an icy adult beverage and taking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness!!
My favorite thing about camping is snuggling with my husband in the sleeping bags!
We LOVE camping! I go camping with my husband and 3 kids every summer and it is our favorite family activity. My two favorite things about camping are: tubing down the river with the kids AND building a fire with my hubby & roasting marshmallows with the kids under the stars. Thanks!
sleeping in a tent
i am the biggest baby about camping, but when i actually do go camping, my favorite part is just hanging out with friends – the time spent with them ALMOST makes up for dirty bathrooms, uncomfortable sleeping bags, and mosquitoes. almost.
The smell of pine trees in the morning and the excitement of not knowing what the new day will bring. As well as the sense of being one with nature.
Sitting around the camp fire, eating smores, and having fun!
Fire! and alcohol.
s’mores, duh!
My family was never one for camping, but I went for the first time in 6th grade on a class trip and have loved it ever since. My favorite part is spending time with friends and not worrying about anything other than bears eating our food, raccoons crawling into our tent, and finding our way back to camp after getting lost in the woods without a map. Pro camping tip: bring a compass!
star gazing!
I love camp fire pizza and a ice cold beer.
my favorite thing about camping is getting away from people!! I love being able to get closer to my kids and husband without any distractions
the night sky
I love the greenery, Birds chirping, squirrels running around and with friends along, its totally a different feeling..

I love the solitude of camping, and dips in the icy mountain streams
it’s been awhile since i’ve camped… but i think i recall spending time with family around a warm camp fire and roasting marshmellows was really awesome. :)
My favorite thing about camping is being able to just get away from everything. Nothing stressful when camping.
campfire smoke smell
Campfire songs
My favorite thing about camping is a wood fire. Making eggs and beans for breakfast burritos in the morning and of course, toasting marshmallows at night!
I do enjoy camping!
My favorite thing about camping is being able to cook and eat outdoors at night.
Fishing with my father was always my favourite part of camping.
Laying under the stars!
Communing with nature – I camp in tent areas, primitive only.
Love everything about camping… But the thing I mostly enjoy about camping is taking a break from reality. The clean air, the challenge of a good hike, the sunrises, the campfire…
My fav thing about camping was the food we cooked especially breakfast over the campfire. It smelled of smok, we smelled of smoke and we were always starved by the time it was ready.
my favorite thing about camping is drinking by the fire, waking up, and doing it all over again!
favorite thing about camping is being able to turn my cell phone…OFF!
The food! Definitely not the threat of bears…….
Crackling fire
I take my girl scout troop to camping often. I can definitely use these!
The best part of camping is the clean air. ALL food tastes better when prepared and eaten outdoors.
We actually do camp. QUITE OFTEN! And my nephews are coming up this summer to spend time with my daughter. We are planning a big camping trip for them to join us on. I would loooooove to have this to surprise them all with.
I…um…I hate camping. But I do LOVE smores, so when camping in my living room, they’re my favorite thing to make!
HA. My favorite thing about camping is the smell of the tents. Not like plastic, not like rubber– something uniquely tent about it. Take care!
The woods, the wildlife and the campfire!
What I love about camping is the feeling of pure freedom and independency and also the opportunity to use your creativity – only you and what you’ve brought with yourself – it’s my decision what and how to use :)
WOW, what a generous gift!!! We are camping fiend’s here in SC. We area family of 8….the children are 9,7,5,3,1.5,3 months!! And we all squeeze into a 27 foot trailer!! We are heading off to go camping next week and cannot wait!!! Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway.
The family time together! Thanks, Maureen (jnomaxx at hotmail dot com)
smores :)
My favorite thing about camping is trying to make gourmet food with limited resources! No counter space, only what you packed in your cooler for ingredients and tons of fun!
Keeping cozy by the fire :)
My favorite thing about camping is that I don’t have to do it! I love the outdoors but I don’t love camping!
Nothing beats the smell of campfire. And it gets into everything and lingers for days!
s’mores!
My favorite thing about camping is recharging my inner energy with nature. Living in the flat, ugly snow capital of the east coast (Buffalo) drains the sprite out of your soul (only a little) – so it’s nice to get out and experience the outdoors, either on my own, or with close friends.
My favorite thing about camping is spending time with my family around the campfire!
campfire coffee
sitting around the campfire and making smores
so this giveaways still goin I want in please?
My favorite thing about camping is the quiet. No electronics. And conversations around the campfire.
I don’t know your location obtaining your data, although wonderful issue. I actually should spend some time studying additional as well as being familiar with extra. Many thanks for excellent info I used to be seeking this data for my mission.
Campfire Coffee. WOOOO HOOOO! Just like the Men of the Mountains in times past said “it don’t take as much water as you think it do to make good coffee” . Pan bread and bacon sandwich and coffee watching the sky blush in the morning is THE world’s best breakfast. Followed closely by a second place meal of a good can of beans (cooked in the can with the top left attached as the handle and a few (bacon grease) pan fried Brook Trout. Dang now I am hungry! As a matter of fact, tonight I will be having campfire popcorn as I wait for my bobber to be pulled down by a plump fish trying to win a Creole seasoned corn flour rubdown and hot oil bath.
